Looking back on 2013
Well, I clearly haven't been blogging much towards the end of last year. But I have been busy in the sewing room. During 2013 I finished five quilts, and I have six more in progress as the year comes to a close.
However, I think the biggest thing to happen this past year was becoming part of a larger community around quilting. I joined the Portland Modern Quilt Guild, which has been a revelation. There are so many talented quilters here in Portland! And now I feel that I can call many of them friends. After hearing Elizabeth Hartman talk to the guild about online quilt bees, I decided to join a couple. Not only did it expand my sphere of quilty friends, it also pushed me to try new things. Needless to say, it has been wonderful.
Looking forward to 2014
So for this next year, here are my goals:
1. Finish all my started projects from this year.
2. Be part of a full year online bee (I am already signed up for this).
3. Practice lots of free motion quilting.
4. Blog more often!
5. Enjoy my quilty community even more.
And here is the first block I made for 2014:
What are you planning for 2014?
